General
Sometimes you need thicker strings for a fuller sound. Thicker strings are a lot less flexible than thinner strings, however, so In order for you to still be able to bend your strings during solos, D’Addario has produced a combination set. The EXL140 consists of thin strings from a 010 set and wound strings from a 012 set. They are made from high quality nickel steel for a warm yet clear sound.

Sinds kort, na vele jaren 0.10 gebruikt te hebben, aan het experimenteren met dikkere snaren. Altijd wel XL's van d'addario. Betrouwbaar, goed klinkend en voor een mooi prijsje. Moeilijk mis schieten met deze jongens.

Sinds ruim een jaar bezig om zowel op mijn 5 Fenders Telecaster als mijn Fender Stratocaster met elk wisselende combinaties van Fender elementen en ook op mijn 2 Gibsons Marauders en een Gibson SG namaak naar de voor mij fijnste set of combinatie van snaren te zoeken. Daarbij varieer ik per gitaar met diktes. En daarbij zijn de EXL110-3D, de EXL115-3D en de EXL140 sets mijn favorieten geworden om te kunnen combineren.
De mogelijkheid om via BaxMusic op zeer korte termijn tegen goede prijzen en met een grote betrouwbaarheid qua verzending sets snaren thuis bezorgd te krijgen is in dit geval een groot plezier en zeer handig.

Een goede set voor lagere tunings zoals Drop C en C standard. Gaan relatief lang mee afhankelijk van het aantal uur dat je speelt per dag. Voor nog lagere tunings dan C zou ik wel nog een iets zwaardere set nemen maar het is wel doenbaar.

Mooie goedkope set van Daddario. Een heel clear geluid. Werkt goed voor mijn bending en drop tuning. Ik speel ze nu momenteel op mijn Vintage V100 Les Paul model. Nette set!

Ideale snaren voor C standaard of drop C tuning. Gaan lang mee en zijn compact verpakt. Goed waar voor je geld voor amateurs tot semi-prof muzikanten (hoewel er ook profs zijn die deze snaren gebruiken!)
