General

David Gilmore's love affair with GHS Boomers began as far back as 1979 when he graced his guitar with a set of these strings to record a little album called The Wall with a little band called Pink Floyd. His unerring commitment has since earned him his very own GHS GB-DGG Boomers David Gilmour Signature Red pack of strings. While Gilmore gets to use a pack adorned with his own name, we get to enjoy a set of strings with the same characteristic sound as an original set of Boomers but with a little gauge variation. A pack of Gilmore Signature Blue strings comes with gauges .010, .012, .016, .028, .038, .048. and are usually found on his Stratocaster. This set of Reds comes with gauges .0105, .013, .017, .030, .040, .050 and are Gilmore's go-to pack when using his Gibson® Les Paul®. Of course, this doesn't mean that these Boomers won't sound just as good on any guitar.

The quality is great although the strings are so heavy and thick, just not for me, but good for Gilmour so I'm happy to have tried it out!

Voor mij de meest gevoelige snaar, klinkt net ff lekkerder dan de andere merken! Met goed onderhoud gaan ze best lang mee! Heb iedere maand wel een aantal gigs en speel dagelijks en ondanks het vele gebruik heb ik nauwelijks snaarbreuk en doe ik wel dik 6 maanden met een setje!!
