Decided to try Flatwounds. Mixed results. That 52w bottom E is powerful! I had to reset the action and intonation. Thinner flatwounds are available from other manufacturers but cost a lot more. So I binned the bottom E and moving everything down one so the official Rotosound A string is now my 42w E string. It means my G is plain not wound. I like the results on my Thinline Telecaster and may well use them on other guitars I own, especially the Tele in Open G, might even keep the heavy bottom E for bottleneck on that!

Always liked Rotosound, don't know why I use other brands. Rotodound strings are always great. Didn't know they produced Flatwound guitar strings, put these on my Epiphone Archtop. They are perfect, nice warm tone and rounded tone, with some flexibility in them.

Top snaren. Gaan erg lang mee, acoustisch klinkt mijn jazzgitaar luider met deze snaren. Voor mij precies de goede snaarspanning en alles mooi in balans.
In vergelijking klinken d’addario chrome en Thomastik dun en dof..
