The ESP LTD V-401B is an impressive V-shaped electric guitar with a 27-inch scale length, which means it's a baritone model - great if you like to play drop tunings. Thanks to the lengthy scale, the strings are still tight enough, even if they're tuned down. Another feature that is bound to appeal to metal fans is this guitar's set of active EMG humbuckers - two EMG 81s, which ensure an immensely tight sound. The set-thru neck, lastly, runs all the way through the body for improved sustain and a comfortably flat heel.

V-401B: modelled after the V-401

It'll be little surprise that the V-401B is the baritone version of the V-401. Apart from colour and scale length, both electric guitars are exactly the same, including the slender U-profile neck, which allows your left hand to slide up and down the fretboard with the greatest of ease. Additionally, the guitar features two octaves of extra large frets - allowing for incredibly smooth string bends. What's more, its body is made of mahogany, ensuring a powerful, full sound that is very discernible from that of the other instruments in the mix.
