General

The LTD B-206SM NS (Natural Satin) is a great six-string bass guitar with an excellent sound and a very acceptable price tag, in a truly stunning jacket. The grain of the ash body alone makes it look beautiful, but the Spalted Maple top ensures a truly unforgettable look. Additionally, the neck is made of five pieces of maple and rosewood, giving this guitar great stability and a luxurious appearance.

A powerful, versatile sound

The premier aspect for the sound of a bass guitar is of course its body. The body of this guitar is made of ash, which has a pleasant weight and striking looks, but also great resonating properties. Two humbucker pickups get the sound of your strings to the amplifier. Their full, powerful output can be freely controlled via a trio of tone controls which cuts or boosts the trebles, mids and bass tones.

Wrote the following about ESP LTD B-206SM NS electric bass guitar 6-string Natural Satin

Inmiddels speel ik 1,5 jaar op deze bas, en ik ben er behoorlijk verknocht aan. Wat een fijne bas.
Door de toonregeling kan er gekozen worden voor diverse toonkleuren, toch staat bij mij alleen de neck pu altijd aan en door de actieve regeling kan ik daarmee alles doen wat ik wil. Binnen m'n bandje maar ook bij de diverse jamsessies.

Bij levering zitten er d'Addario snaren op en ik vind ze niet passen bij deze bas. Probleem was dat de toonkleur tussen de (lage)B en de (hoge)C snaar te groot was. Daarom heb ik er een set Fodera opgezet met ronde kern en volledig nikkel windingen. Hierdoor blijft de toonkleur van laag tot hoog gelijk en het klinkt prachtig.

De bas weegt 6kg.....en dat is wel een ding. Ik speel zoveel mogelijk zittend en dat gaat prima. Met een jamsessie sta ik toch wat korter op het podium en dan is het geen probleem. Zorg voor een goeie draagband, niet het standaard draagbandje, daar krijg je pijn in je nek van.

Verder super tevreden met m'n bas, het is echt de bas waar ik met afstand het meest op speel.

Dit is de eerste bas die ik ooit heb gekocht, deels omdat deze toentertijd was afgeprijsd en ik geen idee had wat ik kocht. 5-6 jaar later is dit nog steeds mijn werkpaard en de tonen die je uit deze bas kunt halen is fenomenaal. De pick-ups klinken niet te agressief of te dof, net de juiste klank waarmee je alle snaren ook definieerbaar kunt maken. Een jaar of 4-5 in het spelen van deze bas besloot ik ook eens langs te gaan om deze bas af te laten stellen, en het personeel bij de winkel in Goes heeft, hoe weet ik niet, de bas naar een nieuw niveau gehaald.
Raad ik aan om als eerste instrument een 6 snaar te pakken? Misschien... veel mensen zeggen niet doen, maar als jij de tijd er in wilt steken om het maximale uit dit instrument te halen geeft een 6 snaar ook zo absurd veel terug...
Maar ja, veel controle over je toon, speelt razendsnel en ziet er goed uit.
Weegt wel pittig wat, en ik vindt het niet de beste bas om op te slappen, de snaren zitten heel dicht op elkaar - wat wel weer geweldig is voor snelle lijntjes waar deze bas echt geweldig voor is.

Ik kan uren blijven typen maar deze bas is zijn geld dik waard! Laat 'm wel professioneel afstellen, bij Bax doen ze dat ook meer dan prima!

Wrote the following about ESP LTD B-206SM NS electric bass guitar 6-string Natural Satin

Heb een 4-snarige Epiphone EB-3 bas(2017), een 5-snarige Ibanez fretloze bas(2018) en een 5-snarige Guild Pilot uit de jaren 80 van de vorige eeuw, welke mijn werkpaard is.
Had nu toch zin in een 6-snarige bas. Heb op een onbekend merk gespeeld om te kijken of het wel zou bevallen: welnu het bevalt uitstekend. Wel even wennen die grote toets en bij de E.S.P. LTD B-206 zeker ook het hoge gewicht, maar hé, het is tenslotte ook een 6-snarige bas.
En wat voor één: de spalted maple uitvoering van E.S.P. is een fantastisch ogend instrument, die ook nog eens heerlijk speelt vanwege z'n platte hals en daarnaast ook nog uitstekend klinkt. Vergelijkingen met een Music-Man zijn terecht. Voor die prijs een aanrader van de eerste orde. Er zullen zeker betere zijn maar, nogmaals, voor de prijs/kwaliteit-verhouding is dit een heerlijke basgitaar.
Toch twee, minpuntjes: de moeren om de stemmeganieken zaten allemaal los en de hals stond bij aflevering zo bol, dat de snaren al op de eerste fret plat lagen en de bas dus niet zo bespeelbaar was voordat de hals helemaal bijgesteld werd. Dit kan exemplarisch zijn, maar dan nog! Dat afstellen heb ik, vanwege de dubbele halspen, door een specialist laten doen, kosten 80,=.
