Hot and fresh from the Custom Shop kitchen in Japan, the ESP Original Series M-II Deluxe electric guitar is an undeniable smasher of a six-string. The M-II has to be one of the most familiar and most loved ESP offerings of all time, partly thanks to the Metallica guitarist, Kirk Hammett whose signature model is directly based on one of these very solid-bodies.

The ESP M-II Deluxe: Unrivalled Playability

The ESP Guitars team have selected a three-piece maple neck, given it a Thin-U profile and coated the backside in satin-gloss to complete a fast and buttery smooth feel in the fret-hand. The rosewood fretboard has been given a familiar 12 inch radius and loaded with a set of twenty-four near-flawlessly finished Jescar FW57110-NS frets and, while the subtle mother-of-pearl position dots aid navigation, the lightly contoured heel ensures smooth fret access and a set of coated Elixir strings come pre-installed - all in the name of maximising comfort and playability.

Seymour Duncan Pickups

The M-II DX R comes equipped with a two-piece Seymour Duncan Pegasus and Sentient pickup loadout. These passive humbuckers lay out full range, ultra-variable sound that spans everything from pure and undiluted cleans to tight and chunky, high-gains. Meanwhile, a Floyd Rose Original double locking tremolo assembly can be harnessed to unleash some expressive vibrato work, and a full set of Gotoh SG360-07 MG-T locking tuners guarantee solid tuning alongside faster string changes, polishing off a model that still manages to raise the bar.
