The two-part Rolling Stones guitar line-up are like night and day. While Keith Richards refuses step on stage without a priceless antique model in his hands, Ron Wood faithfully sticks to his own ESP signature models. The reason is pretty simple: Ronnie has been working with ESP for over 30 years and, throughout that solid partnership, his signature axes have never let him down. Just like Mr. Wood himself, you're looking at an indefatigable stage beast voiced by a set of ESP pickups; loaded with Gotoh hardware; and complete with T-style body-shaping and throwback binding.

Hot Stuff

The solid alder body and bolt-on maple neck complete the magic recipe, laying down immediately tight and classic tone. With the black edition, the neck bears a maple fretboard to add a touch of bite to the mix and, thanks to the fattened up SH pickup configuration, this single-cut monster has been fully set up to support the full Stones catalogue. At the bridge, we have a spiced-up ESP TS-120 single-coil and, at the neck, we have an ESP LH-200 humbucker which dates back to the early nineties and spits high-gain, vintage-flavoured sound with a sweet, raw edge. In short, everything that Ron could wish for.

ESP & Ronnie

While ESP guitars are known as metal-standards, Ron Wood is actually one their most loyal and most well-known cheerleaders. Woody was already toting models built by the Japan-based Electric Sound Products as far back as the early eighties and, simply because there aren't many guitars out there that are able to survive the notorious, marathon gigs that the Rolling Stones put on, Ronnie has remained an ESP fan ever since. The ESP Ron Wood signature is a fully qualified workhorse in every sense of the word, but then with a nice touch of class on the side.
