General
To celebrate their 70 years of existence, Fender reissue the jaw-dropping icon that is the Broadcaster. Just like the 1950 original, this Tele comes with an ash body, dressed in just-the-right-shade of blonde jacket, finished with a historically accurate black phenolic scratchplate. For that authentic playing feel, a maple neck with strong U-profile, maple fretboard and 21 vintage tall frets is fitted, while two Custom Shop Blackguard pickups carry that unerringly genuine Fender twang. This mouthwatering model comes complete with a certificate of authenticity, luxury hardcase and a Broadcaster wiring kit to install the highly unique 'blend' circuit as desired. The very specific and faithful Broadcaster has been made available in 2020 only!
The Broadcaster Story
Just as the leaves were falling from the trees in the back-end of 1950, the guitar-world was about to be forever changed by the dawn of the Broadcaster: the very first Fender solid body electric guitar ever to be graced with a truss rod and two pickups. Half a year later, an angry telegram claiming that the name 'Broadcaster' had been trademarked by Gretsch, forced the simple removal of the word from the headstock and earned all following models the name, 'Nocaster'. The Nocaster, that was once the Broadcaster, later evolved into one of the most iconic, well-known and loved guitars ever made: the Telecaster. It's now a popular rumour that only 250 of the ancestral Broadcasters were ever made, making it one of the most desirable guitars Fender have ever produced.
