A more unique outlier within the Telesphere, the Fender American Professional II Cabronita Telecaster builds on a legacy that's packed with over sixty years of innovation and evolution. This inspired model has been built for the guitarist who's looking for something that pushes just beyond the Telecaster mainstream, so both the body and the bolt-on neck have been hewn from highly-resonant mahogany, giving the tonal foundation a mass of warmth and woodiness.
Since this freshened up electric guitar is part of the American Professional II range, it comes with the more modern playing comfort of a C-shaped neck profile, which has been given a coat of Super-Natural satin-gloss to really speed things up. Meanwhile, the flatter 12 inch radius of the rosewood fretboard; the smoothly rounded fretboard edges; sculpted neck heel joint; and twenty-two medium-jumbo frets fully polish off the snug and controlled feel.
Since the DP241 dual-coil planted at the bridge and the DP240 dual-coil at the neck have been supplied by none-other-than DiMarzio, this model guarantees some big, tight, defined and pretty original amplified tone. This pair of Vintage Minibuckers give the American-made Cabronita Telecaster a robust base that's packed with exceptional dynamics and clarity but without even a hint of mud. The layout has been kept pretty basic and fuss-free, sticking to a three-way pickup switch and a single volume pot that boasts some considerable tweaking depth. And, to finish off this high-grade Professional II Series offering, Fender has mounted a 6-Saddle String-Through-Body Hardtail bridge and a set of their in-house developed Standard Cast/Sealed Staggered machine heads to firm up the tuning stability and intonation.
