General

Upon hearing the words 'Jimi Hendrix' and 'Fender Stratocaster' mentioned in the same sentence, many fans of the man and the guitar will undoubtedly rejoice. To celebrate the legacy of the iconic guitarist, Fender has created an Artist Signature model. By using the Stratocaster to exhibit his innovative, versatile musical talents, Jimi Hendrix made the model incredibly popular, after all. Striking details include an engraved portrait of the artist on the neck plate and an autograph on the back of the reversed headstock. The black lacquer finish, white pickguard and maple fretboard make this Strat a real 'Foxy Lady.' A gig bag is included, so you can easily take her with you to 'Electric Ladyland.'

Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster: a versatile instrument

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame identifies Hendrix as one of the best rock musicians to ever grace the face of this earth. Originally, Jimi was a blues musician, but his creative mind regularly took him on a journey through rhythm and blues, all the way to psychedelic rock. To give this signature Stratocaster a sound worthy of such a versatile artist, Fender fitted it with three American Vintage '65 single-coil pickups. Thanks to a slim 1.65" string nut, you can use your thumb for complex chords. The guitar's C-profile neck has a 9.5" fretboard radius and feels comfortable in your hand. Finally, the vintage-style synchronised tremolo allows you to imitate the sound of bombs dropping down on Vietnam, just as Jimi did on that memorable day in Bethel, NY.

Upside down

Jimi Hendrix's custom to turn his guitars upside down was key to creating his unique sound. He was a left-handed guitarist, but his father pushed him to play right-handed. Whenever dad Al Hendrix turned his back, however, young James Marshall turned his guitar on its axis and changed the string nut and strings. To emulate the look of an inverted guitar, Fender fitted this Fender Artist Signature Strat with a reversed headstock and bridge pickup. As an added benefit, the reversed headstock changes the string tension, keeping the low strings nice and tight, while making the high strings easy to bend.

Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster MN Black
