For those who like to play in the spirit of Kurt Cobain but don't want a factory-worn guitar, Fender offers this Kurt Cobain Jaguar NOS. This New Old Stock model looks brand new but is accurately modelled after Kurt's Jaguar. This replica is fitted with the same cream-coloured humbucker pickups and unique electronincs. This particular model played a starring role in the early nineties, when there was no stopping Nirvana's rise.
The Kurt Cobain Jaguar NOS
This Cobain-signature version has an asymmetrical, Jaguar-type alder body. Its bolt-on neck is made of rosewood and features a 24-inch scale length, slightly shorter than that of a Stratocaster. Its fretboard has 22 medium jumbo frets and beautiful white bindings. The headstock sports a '50s-style Fender spaghetti logo. Its machine heads are made by Gotoh and guarantee smooth tuning and excellent tuning stability. This guitar features a characteristic Adjusto-Matic bridge with a vintage-style tremolo tailpiece and a locking mechanism.
DiMarzio Humbuckers and Unique Electronics
To experience the sound of Kurt Cobain, you need some proper pickups, and this guitar is equipped with just that. Like the original, this signature model is equipped with two heavy DiMarzio humbuckers. The DP100 Super Distortion in the bridge position takes care of the rough stuff, while the DP103 36th Anniversary PAF in the neck position produces a more vintage-style sound. Right above the neck pickup you'll find a slider switch to select the Rhythm or Lead circuit. This Jaguar features separate tone circuits for maximum tonal flexibility. Two horizontal disc knobs function as volume and tone control. This beautiful, accurate replica (although we admit that Kurt was a predominantly left-handed player) comes with an accessory Fender case with plush interior and an exclusive Kurt Cobain book.
