Leo Fender, the father of the iconic ST- and TE-style electric guitars continued with legendary guitar designer George Fullerton under the name G&L. This guitar brand makes quite similar guitars, but with several practical modern innovations. This ASAT Classic Blues Semi-Hollow from G&L's friendlier priced Tribute series is a modified version of Leo's iconic first electric guitar from the fifties. It has the same vintage looks, but its more versatile SH configuration makes it a lot more versatile in music genres such as sparkling country, warm blues and punchy rock.

Tribute Bluesboy Semi-Hollow: light weight & airy tones

The lightweight poplar body of this Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow features 2 hollow sound chambers inside. This can be seen, among other things, in the f-shaped soundhole. This so-called thinline construction was originally done to reduce weight, but the additional airy sound was very much to the liking of guitarists in various genres such as blues. This G&L Bluesboy produces a slightly sweeter, warmer sound than most traditional T-style guitars. Also, the mids are a bit more subdued to accentuate the basses and trebles a bit more.

From more modern single coil sounds to warm vintage double coil sounds

This G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow has the same hardware and electronics as its American brothers. So you'll find a Magnetic Field Design (MFD) single-coil element at the bridge and an AS4255C Alnico humbucker at the neck. The bridge element delivers more modern single-coil sounds, with slightly more output and less brightness than a traditional T-style element. The neck pickup gives you warm vintage double-coil sounds, ideal for sultry jazzy cleans and crunchy blues solos, among other things. The bridge looks familiar at first glance, but has 6 adjustable brass saddles for optimal intonation.
