General
While many will likely already be familiar with the work Chris Miller does as lead guitarist for You Me At Six, it's certainly not a prerequisite in order to enjoy the Ibanez CMM2-BKF Chris Miller signature guitar. That's because it's a true player's instrument with a mahogany body, a one-piece maple neck, a P-90 style single-coil at the neck and a vintage-style humbucker at the bridge. The latter even has a coil-split function, so you can effectively turn it into a single-coil. As a result, this guitar is remarkably versatile and offers a rich and well-balanced sound.
Pickup configuration
The Ibanez CMM2-BKF is based on an Ibanez Roadcore guitar, and offers retro styling combined with modern playing comfort. Where the standard models are equipped with two humbuckers, Chris Miller chose to go a different way. The P-90-style single-coil at the neck allows for bright rhythm parts, while the humbucker at the bridge helps him deliver rich leads. Combined, the pickups deliver a sound that is somewhat reminiscent of the popular TE models with an SH configuration. In short, with this pickup configuration, the CMM2-BKF offers an even richer sound with more punch.
Black Flat Beauty
So we've establised that the Ibanez Chris Miller has got you covered sound-wise, but it's obviously great to look at as well. With a Roadcore body in a Black Flat finish and a matching headstock, a maple fretboard and a cream-coloured P90, it has quite a distinctive look. Finally, there's the Ibanez Tight Tune bridge with a string-through construction. This doesn't just reinforce the guitar's classic look, but combined with the one-piece maple neck it also greatly enhances sustain. Whether you know Chris Miller or not, the Ibanez CMM2-BKF is a great addition to your arsenal. On top of that, it's very reasonably priced as well!
