General

The Schecter Chris Howorth V-7 is the signature model of Chris Howorth, guitarist and co-founder of the American metalcore and alternative metal band In This Moment. This 7-string electric guitar combines an aggressive V-shape with a Satin Black finish and a powerful configuration that is perfectly suited to modern metal. The body is crafted from mahogany and features a mahogany neck with a set-neck construction and Ultra Access. The ebony fretboard has 24 X-Jumbo frets and a Thin C neck profile. Thanks to the 26.5-inch scale length, the guitar is also well-suited to the lower tunings commonly found on 7-string guitars.

Powerful EMG 707

In terms of tone, the Chris Howorth V-7 is fitted with an EMG 707 pickup in the bridge position. This active humbucker pickup delivers a powerful, tight and defined sound that really comes into its own with heavy distortion. Controls remain straightforward with a single volume control. The TonePros 7-String TOM bridge with string-through-body design ensures solid string transmission and reliable intonation. The Schecter locking tuners help with quick and stable tuning. The black hardware complements the dark Satin Black finish and the distinctive V-shape design beautifully.

Built for modern metal

With its 48 mm nut width, 26.5-inch scale length and 24 X-Jumbo frets, this Schecter offers plenty of room for technical playing and deep, heavy riffs. The mahogany body and neck contribute to a full-bodied low end, whilst the ebony fretboard offers a direct playing response. The guitar comes fitted with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7-string strings, type #2621, in gauges .010–.056. A matching Schecter SCSGR-8V case is not included but is available separately. This makes the Chris Howorth V-7 primarily a specialised choice for guitarists focusing on metal and modern, down-tuned playing styles.

Bax Music Warranty This product comes with a 3-year warranty.
