This versatile, 7-string guitar from Schecter is a real monster constructed for the ultimate metal purist. The 'slanted' single coil in the neck and a 'triple-coil' in the bridge position give you punch and articulation. Excellent sustain and definition is possible thanks to this combination, and of course the carefully chosen woods contribute to this. For instance, the body is made of nyatoh tropical hardwood and the neck is a combination of maple and rosewood, with the fretboard consisting of ebony. The 27-inch neck keeps the, especially, lower-tuned strings perfectly tensioned and this results in a tight sound. Thanks to the 'ultra-thin C' shape of the neck, the instrument plays particularly smoothly and the 16-inch fingerboard radius lets you press the strings more easily.

What makes the Sunset-7 Triple really special already betrays its name, namely that the bridge element consists of no less than three coils! Together with the single-coil pickup in the neck position, this results in unusual and beautiful combinations that open up new sound possibilities. For instance, with the five-position switch in position four, a parallel connection between the single coil and the last coil of the triple coil is possible, effectively simulating a neck humbucker pickup. But of course, activating all three coils is also possible, allowing for monstrously tight tones without compromising the fullness of the sound. The fixed, string-through-body design of the bridge only makes the sound even more direct and makes changing strings child's play; especially when combined with Schecter's own locking tuners!
