For the Yamaha YSV-104, Yamaha returned to the original concept of the silent violin. This solid-body violin is perfect for rehearsals but can be used for live performances as well, and comes equipped with what the brand calls SRT Powered Technology to create the characteristic sound and resonance of an acoustic model. Using the included control box, you can select one of two types of reverb: room and hall. In addition, there's an AUX input for an external media player, so you can play along with any song or backing track.

The YSV104: Easy Switching

Because the Yamaha YSV-104 has a tradition design, the bridge, tailpiece, neck and other components are the same as those used on an acoustic violin. This makes it a lot easier for acoustic players to switch over to a silent violin, and vice versa. The angle of the bow and the fingering is also similar, making this Yamaha a great tool for beginners to further hone their skills. Finally, the strings on the YSV-104 are D'Addarios Zyex synthetic violin strings which provide a stable, rich and balanced sound.
