General

With the NTX5, Yamaha present a high quality, Japanese-built classical guitar for steel-string guitarists looking for an eased transition to a contemporary electro-acoustic guitar. The body of the NTX5 not only looks modern but feels modern, and more compact than a regular nylon-string model. The same can be said of the thinner neck, as well as the sharper foundation sound shaped by the solid Sitka spruce top. It's this, along with the solid walnut back and sides, that give this Yamaha guitar a tonal accent that sits somewhere between that of rosewood and mahogany.

The NTX5: Acoustic Transfer and Authentic Amplified Sound

For optimal acoustic transfer, Yamaha has fitted real bone string nut and bridges saddles, while the authentic amplified sound is taken care of by a piezo pickup and an internal microphone. The Atmosfeel preamp sends out the mids to your amps to meet with the basses and trebles coming from the microphone and, using the Blend knob, you can carefully dial in the right mix between both before fine-tuning the lows with the bass EQ.
