General

If you're after a richly embellished Orchestra-style electro-acoustic steel-string guitar, then the OM-140CE from Guild's Westerly Collection hits the mark. The solid wood construction shapes masses of resonance and a fat presence, and if you need more volume, the built-in Fishman pickup provides an amplified boost. This instrument offers traditional feel and playability alongside the playing comfort of a C-profile neck with a slim 44.5mm wide string nut. The natural finish of the top is completed by delicate black-and-white purfling and a mother-of-pearl rosette.

The Guild OM-140CE: Fishman Sonitone Pickup

Unplugged, the spruce top of the OM-140CE ensures a tight sound with plenty of clarity and this is supported by the warmth and full depth provided by the mahogany sides and back. This Orchestra model also comes equipped with a Fishman Sonitone pickup that also functions as a built-in active preamp and results in an extra-powerful sound that can be tweaked to perfection using the included volume and tone controls, so that whether amplified or unplugged, this guitar packs punch.

The Guild Westerly Collection

Guild have been building high-quality instruments since 1953, and their acoustic guitars hark back to earlier, vintage models. Each of the steel-string guitars in the Westerly series have been built using solid woods before being equipped with a number of refined and more luxurious details. The headstock of every model is then adorned with the traditional pearloid inlay Guild emblem and the top is finished with a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard. The Westerly series offers expensive acoustic sound at a surprisingly affordable price, and each guitar comes with a form-fitting Guild Polyfoam case.
