General
Keeping things high-spec yet affordable, the Sigma Guitars DTCE electro-acoustic features a dreadnought body finished with a solid soundboard and cutaway, bringing comfy playability as well as big, lush sound - amplified or unplugged. The low-profile carve of the neck has an immediately slim and snug feel and has been combined with a set of twenty frets and a dark micarta fretboard. The Sitka spruce soundboard has been coupled with a tilia basswood back and sides and the mahogany neck has been bound to the body via a traditional dovetail join, resulting in rich and organic acoustic tone with a clear mid-range accent and sweetly rounded trebles. So it can be plugged directly into a PA system or acoustic amplifier, the DTCE has also been fully kitted out with a Sigma-designed preamp and piezo pickup system complete with three-band EQ controls and a handy built-in tuner.

Enkele weken geleden de Sigma DTCE gekocht. Echt een geweldige gitaar. Veel volume als slaggitaar en rijk geluid. Heeft volgens mij ook veel te maken met materiaal van de back en sides. Ook voor fingerpicking is de gitaar zeer geschikt. In de shop gekocht en was naar mijn mening de best klinkende gitaar, dit terwijl er ook gitaar van rond de 1000 euro tussen zaten. De gitaar had naar een iets te hoge actie. Ik heb er een andere zadel ingezet die 2 mm lager is. Speelgemak is nu helemaal super.
Er zitten d,addario EXP 16 snaren op. Dit zijn light snaren , dunste 0.12 mm. Ik ga ze nog een keer vervangen voor iets dunner 0,11 of 0.10 van Martin. Dat speelt vaak wat soepeler. Deze gitaar is serieus te overwegen en helemaal gelet op de prijs. Ik heb er nog niet mee opgetreden, dus kan nog geen oordeel geven over de aanwezige versterker.
