General

You can see it at a glance, this Takamine GD74CE-12UNAT Gloss Natural has a distinctly Mexican look, with a spruce top, a beautifully flamed maple body (flamed maple) and especially the beautiful, finely finished purfling bindings and rosette. You can play this 12-string guitar acoustically, but it also comes with a preamp that allows you to connect to an amplifier or PA system. This Takamine TP-3G preamp lets you control volume and tone (3-band EQ) and also has a built-in tuner on board.

Double X bracing

This guitar is made for traditional Mexican folk, not only by its looks, but there is also an important feature on the inside. Namely, the top is extra reinforced with double X bracing, so it can withstand very high string tension. This allows you to fit two regular string sets of six instead of a classic 12-string set (with thin double strings that are an octave higher). This creates a powerful and full sound with extra volume that holds up perfectly in a mariachi band.
