The Yamaha FG9 MX: Pure Craft

Every last inch of the Yamaha FG9 MX has been hand-crafted in the Yamaha workshop in Japan and the attention to detail is more-than evident. The body has been coated in a thin high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the soundboard to resonate fully. The one-piece mahogany neck has been bolted to the body to stabilise the overall build, boost vibrational transfer and improve tuning, and the entire design has been finished off with further deluxe details, including a dark ebony fretboard, a bone nut and a set of Gotoh machine heads.

Atmosfeel: Impressive Stage Sound

The newly developed Yamaha Atmosfeel system combines the best of two worlds: the extra power of a pickup and the natural response of a microphone. The only visible sign that a preamp system has been worked into the build of this model is the three unmarked control pots mounted on the side of the shoulder, which can be used to set the Mic Blend, the Master Volume and the Bass EQ. The layout is deceptively simple, since these three fuss-free pots grant in-depth control over the advanced undersaddle pickup, mini-microphone and unique synthetic transducer.
