A super-rare, classic sixties guitar has finally made its long-awaited return! This is the Masterbilt Series Excellente electro-acoustic steel-string guitar. Only 141 original models were produced between 1963 and 1970, one of which has been lovingly played by country-legend Loretta Lynn for decades. It was only a matter of time before Epiphone would decide to present an affordable reissue but now that it's finally here, we can safely say this brilliant dreadnought can be used for much more than just country music.

The Masterbilt Excellente: Rich Tone & Bright Sound

Next to luxurious inlays and a characteristic scratch plate, the Masterbilt Excellente has been mounted with Kluson Waffleback machine heads. The rich, bright core sound stems from a solid Sitka spruce top and, in order to keep this steel-string affordable while maintaining powerful mids and clear trebles, Epiphone have fitted it with ovangkol sides and back. A Fishman Sonitone system with tone controls has been installed to accommodate amplified sound and turns the Excellente into a fantastic guitar that's suitable for a wide array of styles.
