Offering excellent bang for the buck, this formidable jumbo-sized steel-string has an asymmetrical body that has been specially carved out to facilitate all of the matching playing techniques and, since the soundboard is made of solid cedar supported by okoume body parts, the acoustic foundation sound of the PA230E has beautiful distinguishable edge.
The PA230E: Rich Acoustic Sound Without Overpowering Bass
While cedar is more traditionally used for crafting premium classical guitars, any discerning tone-connoisseur is bound to appreciate the beautifully balanced acoustic sound of this Ibanez jumbo. Chords and melodies are lent maximum presence while the okoume wood and the special X-M bracing add extra resonance and the ebony used for the bridge blends some bite into the highs. What's also great is that the top-loading bridge of the PA230E makes swapping out the strings practically effortless.
Ibanez Custom Electronics
Since Ibanez have fleshed out the build with their own Custom Electronics preamp and two different guitar pickups with individual volume controls, all of the essentials needed for flexible tone are present. Next to a contact piezo pickup for those well-known fingerpicking sounds and more adventurous percussive styles played on the top and body, this steel-string guitar features a magnetic pickup tucked away in the soundhole. This means that besides dialling in the ideal blend of both pickups, you're free to send to the signal to your amp or stage box in either mono or stereo via the fitted jack outputs. Lastly, to make the deal even more tempting, Ibanez toss in a deluxe gig bag so you can keep your new best friend safe on your way to the stage.
