General
The Goliath Thunderbolt/USB/MADI audio interface by Antelope Audio is the result of about twenty years of experience and know-how. It has some pretty impressive features right off the bat. For starters, it has a huge number of inputs and outputs, as well as Thunderbolt support for ultra-fast data transfer. What's more, it supports USB and MADI as well, the latter of which ensures the operation of no fewer than 64 channels in total. Above all, it features 16 top-notch microphone preamps that each offer an incredibly pure reproduction of your audio signal. The Goliath has 36 analogue inputs and 32 analogue outputs via the MADi interface. And to top it all off, it boasts an outstanding AD/DA conversion, driven by Antelope's legendary clocking technology.
What more could an audio engineer want?
Via Thunderbolt, 64 channels can be routed through to a large array of analogue and digital inputs such as MADI, AES, ADAT, and S/PDIF, as well as world-class instrument and microphone inputs. The Goliath also offers two ReAmp and two headphone outputs. The ReAmps are especially useful after you've recorded a guitar part using the internal amp simulator, for instance, and want to replace it with a tube amplifier later on. You simply route the signal through to the amp of your choice. The Goliath is flexible and offers everything you need! The monitor outputs on this interface are also high-class. It also features DB25 connections, which make surround sound mixing possible using the first 8 outputs.
Clocking and DSP engine
The clocking mechanism in the Goliath is impressive indeed, consisting of a fourth-generation AFC (Acoustically Focused Clocking) jitter management algorithm. You'll find this algorithm in all of Antelope's master clock products, which are known around the world as the most accurate on the market. Finally, the Goliath can sync perfectly to any other device thanks to the remarkably accurate Rubidium Atomic Clock, and you can connect the 10M for an even more precise synchronisation. Of course, the Goliath wouldn't be complete without a DSP engine and guitar effects. Want classical guitar tones or a tube amp sound? No problem with the amp simulators on board the Goliath. It's got all you need and is only 2U high. With the Goliath, Antelope Audio has officially raised the bar.
