Focusrite enthusiasts who own iPads are without a doubt familiar with the iTrack audio interface. An impressive variation of this is the practical Focusrite iTrack Dock, which allows you to easily make recordings on any iPad with a lightning connector. Recording with the iTrack Dock

The iTrack Dock works easily with any Core Audio app, including GarageBand, Cubasis and Auria, so you can make multi-track recordings in no time. On the back, you'll find that the interface is equipped with two XLR inputs for dynamic or condenser microphones, which are supported by the famous top-quality Focusrite preamplifiers. Both channels are also suited for line inputs via a 6.3mm jack, and channel 1 can be used for connecting a guitar or bass guitar. You can even control a variety of iPad audio apps with a MIDI controller, via the USB input.

Interface outputs

If you want to connect a set of active monitor speakers, you can use the balanced monitor outputs featured on the Focusrite iTrack Dock. These have a dynamic range of 105 dB, so you can reach high volumes without experiencing signal clipping. Of course you can also make use of the headphone output, which is especially convenient if you want to monitor yourself when recording a track. Just press the direct monitoring switch, and you'll hear your vocals or playing without any hint of delay! Monitor and headphone volumes can be controlled via the handy dials on top of the dock.
