Motu 8pre USB audio interface

General

The MOTU 8pre USB is an audio interface with eight top-class microphone/instrument preamplifiers, as well as 8 channels of ADAT optical input and output. This interface turns your computer into a powerful digital audio workstation. Use the MOTO 8pre as your primary audio interface, and you can use the included CueMix DSP software to digitally mix and monitor all sixteen inputs.

Two in one

If you choose not to connect the 8pre to your computer via USB, it's possible to use it as an expansion for another audio interface or digital mixer with an ADAT connector. In that case, it functions as an eight-channel analogue-to-digital converter with a maximum sample rate of 96 kHz. As the transmission is purely digital, there is no loss of audio quality. Use the included CueMix DSP software, and the 8pre is visible as an additional eight inputs, so you'll always have a clear overview of your inputs and outputs.

CueMix DSP digital mixer

Connect your microphones, guitars, synths and effect processors to the MOTU 8pre, and the CueMix DSP software allows you to monitor them via the headphone output or main output - all latency-free, so you won't need an external mixer. Using the software, it's possible to make four different mixes and to assign them to each output pair (digital or analogue). Each mix is capable of processing all sixteen inputs (8 XLR/TRS and 8 ADAT optical). Meanwhile, the 8pre USB's Bounce Back function enables you to send one of the four mixes back to your computer for stereo recording.
