A rather unique bit of kit, the Roland GO:Mixer Pro-X isn't just any mixer-plus-audio interface. Unlike 'traditional' studio gear, this smartphone mixer is designed for mobile producers who want to be able to work anywhere. Since it's part of Roland's third generation of mobile mixers, the brand-new GO:Mixer Pro-X boasts improved audio quality to match the high-quality footage that you can shoot with modern smartphones these days.
The Roland GO:Mixer Pro-X: Always Prepared
Next to a stereo instrument such as a synthesizer, the Roland GO:Mixer Pro-X accommodates plugging in a dynamic or condenser microphone via the fitted XLR/jack port and a guitar or bass into the fitted Hi-Z jack input. In addition, you're free to connect a headset, a smartphone and two mini-jack sources like two tablets. There are encoders at the top of the mixer for adjusting the balance and the whole thing can run off your phone's battery or can be powered by popping in four AAA-batteries. Everyone with a need for the GO:Mixer will no doubt have their reasons so, luckily, the sky's the limit when it comes to putting it to use in any and all situations.

Zowel de hardware als de app is niet meer bruikbaar met een Samsung Galaxy A33 (2024).
De 4XCamera app kan je helemaal niet meer downloaden op de laatste Android versies.
Ik zal het apparaat houden omdat ik alsnog met m’n oudere iPad filmpjes kan opnemen volgens het normale proces.

Opnames met bovenstaande combi geeft een droog geluid. De app zou tenminste een reverb-effect in huis moeten hebben. Daardoor niet echt geschikt voor mooie opnames. Toen de line-out van mijn Roland AC33 er op aangesloten, om wat reverb toe te voegen. Dat klinkt beter, maar maakt de mixer eigenlijk overbodig.
Het was de bedoeling om opnames te maken met de splitscreen-functie van de app. Dus eerst gitaar en zang opnemen. Deze opname op de koptelefoon afspelen en er basgitaar of cajon (in het 2e scherm) er aan toevoegen. Maar dan blijken de opnames lang niet synchroon te lopen. Dit kan je handmatig bijstellen. Wat een heel gedoe is. Dus het geheel is zeker niet plug&play.
