General

The Roland Rubix22 USB audio interface is the smallest in the series, but has plenty to offer beginning and amateur producers. It offers all the functions you need as well as two XLR/jack connections with Hi-Z and phantom power and DIN connections for MIDI in and out. By means of two balanced jack outputs, you can connect this interface directly to a set of active studio monitors or an amplifier.

Roland Rubix22 switches

On the rear of the Rubix22, there are three handy switches. You can select the type of power supply you want; USB or adapter, which is ideal when using this interface with an iOS 9 device! There's also a switch for ground lift and one for turning direct monitoring on or off. This means you will hear a guitar directly, for instance, without having to send it through your DAW first (this also means no latency). What's more, you can switch to mono for superb centralised sound.

Ik moet hem helaas afraden. Ik had grote verwachtingen bij een product wat de naam Roland draagt, en helaas is dit niet helemaal tot uiting gekomen. Na het installeren van de Windows Drivers en ASIO heb ik hem aan het werken gekregen in Ableton Live 10, maar het product haalde nooit een doenbare latency, althans voor mij als drummer niet. En ik heb hem ook terug gestuurd voor een Behringer die goedkoper was met 4 inputs in plaats van 2. De Behringer krijg ik tot 6ms latency zonder kraken, de Roland kreeg ik niet eens onder de 20ms zonder dat alles bij elkaar kraakte. De audio processor wat in dit toestel zit is volgens mij niet krachtig genoeg om alles snel genoeg te verwerken zodat je het gevoel krijgt dat er geen vertraging achter zit. Puur daarom kan ik ook niet meer dan 3 sterren geven.. Leuk voor iemand die wat lichtjes wil opnemen, maar als precisie vereist is ken dit product niet mee.

Biedt alles dat nodig is om (in mijn geval) mijn orgel moeiteloos aan te sluiten op mijn computer!

Geluidskwaliteit is uitstekend, installatie onder Win10 ging probleemloos.
Verder werd gratis software (Ableton Live9 Lite) meegeleverd om muziek te kunnen opnemen en bewerken. Een upgrade heb ik inmiddels tegen relatief geringe kosten aangeschaft.

Ik kon als beginner met MIDI zo aan de slag!
