The Tascam DR-10X is an exceptionally compact digital audio recorder that can be connected to the base of your dynamic XLR microphone. That means you're able to hold both your microphone and your recorder in a single hand, without lugging additional gear around or getting tangled in your own cabling. The DR-10X leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to audio quality, allowing you to record uncompressed files to a micro SD/SDHC card in 48kHZ/24-bit resolution.

Practical matters

Using only a single AAA battery, this compact Tascam recorder offers a battery life of more than eight hours. A low-cut filter and a limiter enhance the quality of your audio, while the decent tone control of the mic preamp enables you to experiment a little with your sound. To ensure a stable recording level, gain can be controlled both manually and automatically. A headphone output, meanwhile, allows you to listen to your recordings without bothering anyone.
