The Yamaha AC3R is one of the top guitars from Yamaha's A series. The eight modern electro-acoustic guitars from this series all feature solid spruce tops, a cutaway, and high-quality SRT pickups, making them excellent for live and studio use. The AC3R is a concert-sized guitar with sides and back of solid rosewood and an expansive System63 SRT preamp. To top it off, this steel-string guitar has a beautiful vintage sunburst finish.

The AC3R: a full yet tight sound

Because the AC3R is constructed from all solid wood, the body has optimal resonance resulting in fantastic sustain and projection. The tone colour is incredibly balanced, thanks to the spruce, and the rosewood adds deeper lows and sparkling highs. Because of the compact concert-sized body and alder fretboard, the AC3-R has a relatively bright, tight sound.

Amplification

Amplify the AC3R by connecting it with a guitar amplifier or mixer, and you'll hear how carefully the original acoustic sound of this guitar is reproduced. Using an external microphone isn't necessary with this western guitar! The SRT pickup near the bridge accurately picks up the sound of each string and sends it to the preamp, from which you can expect precise tone colour in the amplified sound.

Functions of the preamp

The System63 SRT preamplifier replicates the sounds of three different well-known microphones. You can select these with a switch, after which you can use the blend knob to set the dry signal ratio. Additionally, you can choose how much body resonance comes through along with the distance of the microphone. Fine tune the sound with the 3-band EQ. The preamp is also equipped with a chromatic tuner with display to make tuning quick and easy.
