This Suhr Rufus fuzz effect pedal is a very diverse sounding fuzz. Both the vintage, '69 vibe and the more aggressive, modern sounds are perfectly obtainable with the Rufus fuzz. And the 3-band equaliser gives you control over every aspect of the fuzz sound. What's more, you actually get two modes in a single pedal thanks to the mf(x) function. This multi-function switch becomes active when you momentarily hold down the footswitch. Among other things, this allows you to quickly switch between the Rufus' 'normal' and 'fat' modes. Since the Rufus leaves your source sound completely intact, you don't lose any low end, so the pedal is also great for bass guitar! The true bypass function completely eliminates the effect from the signal chain when you switch off the pedal.

Treble switch and FX Link function

Rufus features a Treble switch that allows you to set the fuzz to three different positions. When you move the switch fully to the left, the higher frequencies are muted for a warmer sound. In the middle, a flatter frequency response is obtained for a 70s fuzz effect. Finally in the right position, the higher frequencies are actually boosted (angry) for more 'bite' and 'attack'. Then there's the FX Link mode that lets you switch the fuzz externally, but it also allows you to put the pedal into different 'power up' modes, in short: 'ON', 'Remote' and 'Bypass.'
