The Bluegrass-tinged nostalgia mixed with an unhinged level of distortion might be exactly how Jack White helped define the guitar sound of the early 2000s. To honour that sound, here's the signature Third Man Plasma Coil Pedal. Forged during a tight collaboration between innovative stompbox builders, Gamechanger Audio, and Mr. White himself, this rendition of the ground-breaking Plasma Coil has been tweaked to take things even further, earning it the same name as White's record label: Third Man. The clean blend function has been ripped out, burned and replaced with a mystical looking central pot that can be dialed to point at one of six enigmatic symbols.
The Third Man Plasma Coil Pedal: Get Behind Me Satan
Besides a tight volume boost, the central pot can swing from a thick and tasty octafuzz-style effect, through two harmonic overtone blends - one in high, and one in low frequency flavour, and then on to a formidable sub-layer that comes close to a more unruly bit-crusher-style effect. So, if you already thought that the OG Gamechanger Plasma Coil was fierce enough, think again. While taking a bit of a departure, Third Man has the same High Voltage Distortion with a 3,500 Volt foundation, giving you full access to sharp distortion backed up by a potent gate and exacting note definition. Add the 6-way effects pot and you have something audacious enough to call on the help of the Devil.
