Thanks to the Tone Boss from DeArmond, you can easily upgrade your steel-string acoustic with a high-fidelity magnetic soundhole pickup. The Tone Boss has a humbucker-style design for natural and accurately amplified sound, and since the pole pieces are adjustable, the response and the balance of the strings can be tweaked in minute detail. On the bottom of the Tone Boss you'll find the volume control, but perhaps the best part about this handy passive pickup is that it doesn't require any batteries. Clamp it in and you're practically good to go or, as a permanent solution, simply install the unit and the included endpin jack using the included mounting materials. As a thoughtful extra, DeArmond throw in three different top trims so you can customise the look of your Tone Boss to match your guitar.

What a great piece of kit! The pickup is well made, the package contains all you need (with the exception only of a drill bit to fit the end jack) and all at a bargain price. This is third time lucky for me as I've already tried two more famous pickup brands, neither of which proved successful. Having now bought two of the DeArmond pickups - one for use in a six-string parlor, the other in a Blueridge tenor - my experience is that the pickup is easy to fit (even into instruments with a relatively small soundholes) and being a humbucker, it's quiet. I play through Yamaha and Boss amps and the sound produced is consistently great, with bass, mid and treble all performing well and only modest EQ'ing required. A big advantage for me has been the ability to adjust the individual pole piece, allowing just the right string-to-string balance - especially useful with the four-string tenor. Bax Music was the best on price and the service was great, as always.

Heel erg blij met deze pickup. Installatie was eenvoudig (ik had al een strapbutton/input in de gitaar zitten en deze paste er perfect in). Ik heb er een Fishman Sonito preamp + piezo voor verwijderd uit de gitaar (Sigma J45 kopie) want dit klinkt gewoon veel beter! (Maar misschien heb ik gewoon een voorkeur voor magnetische klankgatelementen). De verstelbare polepieces zijn een pre, waren voor mijn gitaar echt noodzakelijk om tot een goede balans voor de snaren onderling te komen. Ik vind 'm ook gewoon erg 'akoestisch' klinken en veel natuurlijker dan een piezo. Geen last van rondzingen en veel output. Me happy!

Fijn element voor mijn acoustische gitaar.
Goede balans tussen de hoge en lage snaren. Transparante klank.

Je moet alleen niet bang zijn om een gat (12mm) te boren in je klankkast op de plek waar je strap vast zit. Dan fluitje van een cent om 'm te installeren.
Leuk die 3 stickers zodat je zelf kan bepalen hoe het element in je klankgat er uit ziet :-)

En passief, dus geen gedoe met batterijen die opeens leeg zijn. Genoeg power om in je versterker te pluggen.
