General

The DiMarzio DP159 Evolution Bridge bridge pickup is one for the guitarist looking for a wide dynamic range in leads or solos. This Evolution pickup was designed in collaboration with Steve Vai, so in that respect you are definitely in the right place. The pickup has a tight low-end, but also a focus on the highs, which allows this bridge pickup to cut through music well. The difference between the neck and bridge pickup of this model is that the bridge pickup is a bit tighter, more aggressive and louder. For a humbucker, this pickup has quite a lot of overtones, which also makes feedback come up quite quickly. This gives you a lot of freedom in your sounds and playing, but may be a bit overwhelming for the beginning guitarist.
