General
When talking about a single coil soapbar, versus a humbucker, there could hardly be a greater difference. Yet with this DP154 DLX Plus Bridge soapbar-style humbucker, DiMarzio has managed to build a small bridge between the two. DiMarzio has managed to retain some of the characteristics of a typical soapbar single coil, giving this humbucker a very clean and open sound. They have achieved this by cutting back the midrange slightly, making the low tighter and keeping the high punchy. The pickup has a lot of power, but is not muddy. This pickup fits solid-body guitars and works best in the bridge position.
