General
The DiMarzio DP221 D Activator X Neck is a very powerful, yet quite dynamic neck pickup. If you have ever seen the X2N pickups, then this D Activator X Neck pickup may look familiar to you - but its operation is slightly different. The coils themselves are tuned to different frequencies, resulting in a powerful sound with particularly clean characteristics at low volume. This neck model has a slightly less powerful magnetic field than the bridge element, which was done on purpose: that way, this neck pickup works perfectly together with the bridge model and the sustain, for instance, is affected as little as possible. The D Activator X Neck is particularly suitable for heavier music styles like hard rock or metal.
