For the Strat guitarist who wants to give their cherished axe that '50s Alnico 5 style sound, Fender offer the Fender Custom Shop Fat 50's SSS pre-wired scratchplate. Loaded with the necessary electronics to provide all of that lush vintage tone, this pickguard is easily installed and will treat your Strat to a balance of fat bass and sweetly tempered trebles. The mid-mounted single-coil has been reverse-wound to clean the signal of any unwanted noise in pickup-switch positions 2 and 4 and, so that you're assured of an even output across all six strings, the staggered magnet poles of the pickups have been bevelled by hand. Since every required component has been secured to the scratchplate for you, all you need do is solder it to the output jack and make sure that the electronics are grounded.
