The Seymour Duncan Slash 3.0 Humbucker Set is the next step in Slash’s legendary pickup sound. This set (neck + bridge) was developed for a very specific occasion: Guns N’ Roses during the ‘Back to the Beginning’ tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. Slash wanted more output and, above all, more attack, without losing the recognisable honesty and clarity of his sound. The result is the most aggressive pick-up in the Slash series, with a modern punch and a classic foundation.

More bite, without mud

Slash 3.0 delivers a tighter low end, faster attack and extra presence, making riffs and leads stand out more directly from the mix. It’s based on a rough-cast Alnico V magnet, combined with traditional construction details you’d normally expect in boutique humbuckers. Think of wooden spacers, classic components and vacuum wax potting to minimise unwanted squeaks and microphony. The result is a raw rock sound with definition: powerful enough for high-gain playing, yet with enough nuance for dynamic performance.

Assembly and cabling

These Zebra humbuckers come fitted with a shielded 4-conductor hook-up cable. This allows you to achieve not only standard wiring but also coil splitting, series/parallel connections and phase reversal. The short mounting legs make the set suitable for a wider range of guitars, such as flat-top models, thinner bodies and superstrats, and they allow for direct body mounting. Please note: in the event of a return, pickups will not be accepted if the cable has been cut or soldered, or if there is any damage that affects the condition of the product.
