Ever since heavy music emerged in the late 1960s, guitarists have been searching for pickups that deliver more punch, more bass and, above all, more power. The Seymour Duncan SLUG Rail Humbucker Set (black) is designed precisely for that purpose: an extremely powerful, passive humbucker set for 6-string electric guitars. With rail-style pole pieces, dual ceramic magnets and an insane DC resistance (up to over 47 kOhm in the bridge position), you’ll put your amp under immediate strain. Ideal for slow-building, bass-heavy riffs and anything in stoner and doom metal that needs to keep growling.

Designed for maximum output

The SLUG set consists of a neck and bridge pickup, each with its own character but sharing the same uncompromising approach: high output, tight bass and a wall of mid-range. Thanks to the shielded 4-conductor connection cables, there’s also plenty of scope for experimenting with wiring, such as coil splitting or series/parallel configurations (depending on your circuit). This means that, despite the raw, powerful basic sound, you can still get a variety of tonal options from your 6-string guitar without switching to active pickups.

Installation: longer than a standard humbucker

Please note when fitting: the SLUG is slightly longer than a standard humbucker. That’s why a special mounting ring is included, which accommodates the 73 mm (2.87”) bobbin length. If you’re fitting it into a pickguard, a minor adjustment may be required to ensure everything fits neatly. The set is finished in black and is made in the USA. Please note that pickups are generally non-returnable if the cables have been cut to length, soldered or damaged.
