With the high-quality SPL Phonitor 2 you get excellent sound reproduction, and you can determine the crossfeed as well. This expansion rack allows you to install the Phonitor 2 in a 19-inch rack. But that's not all! You also get 4 extra stereo outputs that are selectable with a rotary button, which transforms the SPL Phonitor 2 into a full-blown monitor controller.

SPL Phonitor 2: unique headphone amplifier

The issue when using headphones for mixing is the fact that the channel is split into a right and left signal. You don't have this issue with monitor mixing, cause the left ear will also hear the sounds from the right speaker, and vice versa. To solve the headphone issue, SPL has added a crossfeed function to the Phonitor 2, in order to leak signals from one side to the other as required. It also allows you to determine the virtual centre point and the monitor angle.

Expansion rack

The SPL Phonitor 2 Expansion Rack is specially designed to install your headphone amplifier in a 19-inch rack. The balanced speaker output can be connected to the expansion rack that will turn this single output into 4 outputs. This gives you a combined headphone amp/monitor controller with three inputs and 4 balanced stereo outputs. However, this doesn't change any of its headphone functions, meaning you can continue to use your Phonitor 2 in the same way you always have.
