Drummers depend a great deal on their drum kit and cymbals to express themselves musically. Every part of it is valuable for your playing, but also valuable in an economical sense. To reach out to beginners and budget-conscious drummers, Meinl created the HCS series of cymbals, and the 13-inch HCS13H hi-hats are part of that series. It was made of MS63 brass, which is then meticulously shaped in an automated process, and finished in traditional fashion.
The HSC13H has an aggressive stick response and crisp attack with a warm, yet transparent sound. Don't expect a cutting, hi-hat for metal drummers, but rather a versatile hi-hat with a civilised volume. The basic tone is a bit higher in pitch than that of the 14-inch hi-hats, which makes this pair excellently suited for fresh articulation and tasty grooves. The hi-hat is the cornerstone of any drum kit and at this price point, it is an excellent choice for any beginning drummer.
