How Does it Work?

How Much Does it Cost?

Question: How much does it cost per month?
Answer: The product price divided by 14
Example: £420 divided by 14 = £30 per month

Note: The minimal hire period is 4 months + the days remaining in the month, counted from the date when the hire agreement starts.

Question: Do you need to pay a deposit?
Answer: Yes. The deposit amount is the product price divided by 5
Example: £420 divided by 5 = £82 deposit (paid once)

Note: The deposit is paid just once and is refunded when the product is returned in good condition

Question: How much is the first payment?
Answer: The first payment is the deposit plus the hire cost of the first full month and the hire cost of the days remaining in the month, counted from the date when the hire agreement starts
Example: £140 (one-off deposit payment) + £30 (first full month hire charge) + the days remaining in the month the agreement was made. Thereafter, only £30 is paid per month.

Note: After the first payment, the normal, fixed hire amount is charged per month

Here are all the frequently asked questions (and their answers) about hiring gear from Bax Music.

How do I arrange a hire contract online?

Complete our form to submit your request to hire one of our products and we'll get in touch with you on the next workday.

What can I hire? 

Any physical product that can be found on the Bax Music site, as long as the total price falls between £300 and £1,500.

Can I hire more than one thing? 

Absolutely! As long as the total price falls between £300 and £1,500.

Can I hire something for a short period? 

The minimum hire period we offer is 4 full months + the days remaining within the first month that the hire agreement is made. For example, if you start hiring gear on the 21st of April, then the hire period would include the whole of May, June, July, August + the last ten days of April.

I have a gear hire contract but I want to cancel it. Is that possible?

Within the legal reflection period of 14 days, you still have the option to cancel your contract and get your money back. Please note: our 30-day money-back-guarantee is only applicable to purchases and is not applicable to gear hire contracts. Gear hire contracts come with a 14-day reflection period only, which is counted from the day your hire gear is delivered.

When will the product be delivered?

Do we have the product in stock? Then we'll send it out to you as soon as you've made your first payment.

How much does it cost? 

A fixed hire price is paid per month. This amount is the total price of the product divided by 14. We'll also ask that a deposit be paid with the first payment, which will be refunded to you once the product has been returned in good condition. The deposit is the product price divided by 5.

Can I hire something and then buy it at a discount?

If you happen to fall in love with the gear you hire and want to buy it, no problem! As soon as the minimum hire period of 4 months is up, you can buy it at a discount. The discount is calculated as follows:

What's the remaining purchase price?	Example
Price of the product as new	£420
Deposit *	£140
Half of the rental amount paid so far	For example, if you paid for exactly 4 months, then the total you paid would come to £112. Half of £112 is = £56
The amount you'd pay to buy the product	420 - 140  - 56 = £224 extra payment

 

* If you decide to purchase the product, the paid deposit will not be refunded but deducted from the price.

 

Will the full deposit be refunded? And if so, when?

The deposit is refunded in full when the product has been returned to Bax Music in good condition. Please note: signs of use such as fingerprints are no problem. However, it may be that deductions to the deposit are made due to scratches, other marks and damage found on the product and/or accessories. This is determined when the product is checked by our Aftersales team.

Please also note that any consumables that come with certain products, like the batter head of a drum, will need to replaced by us on return will incur a deduction of around 10% of the deposit. This can, of course, vary depending on the degree of wear and tear.

How can I cancel my hire agreement? 

Sure! You can cancel your hire agreement after the first four months. Cancel your hire agreement by filling in the form below:

 

What should I do if the hired product develops a fault?

Register the product for a return via our returns portal and make it clear that the product being returned is a hired product.

Can I use any Bax Music discount codes or special offers?

No, unfortunately it's not possible to use a discount code or take advantage of a special offer when you hire gear from us.
