General

The sound of a drum kit is partly determined by the tension of the drums. To keep this tension tight, it is important to use the right tension hoops. The MasterCast Hoops are found on Pearl's professional drum kits, but are also available separately. For example, the DC1608, a 16-inch tensioning hoop for the percussion side of a floortom. It is made of cast metal and is therefore equally strong throughout, a good feature for a product that needs to maintain tension. This model has 8 holes for attaching tensioning bolts.
