At last, a virtual instrument that's not based on samples but physical modelling: the IK Multimedia MODO Virtual Bass Guitar. This virtual instrument is made of software based on a string model that your computer uses to calculate what a played string should sound like. Basically, you can do anything that you would with a real bass guitar such as finger, slap and plectrum techniques. Next to the position of the pickup, even the age of the string can be changed! The result is extremely realistic sound that anyone without bass guitar skills can use to drop some bass in their productions. Naturally, MODO is also really interesting for guitarists and bassists to use as a place holder. Simulations of all famous bass models that helped shape music history are included, as well as a number of matching effects to create the perfect sound.
