The new iPad Air 2, successor to the iPad Air, is more impressive than ever. The already fast A7X processor has been replaced by the 40% faster A8X, and this tablet also processes graphics 2.5 times as fast. The previous iPad Air had a Retina screen consisting of three layers, and if you experienced it you might have thought that it couldn't get any better than that. Of course, Apple always finds a way to make their products better, and this time they reduced the three-layer screen to one single layer, making the device not only thinner, but providing more vivid colours and higher contrast. The cameras have also been improved with new sensors, and the iSight camera (on the back) has a number of new functions such as time-lapse video, slow-motion, burst, panorama and a timer. Improved video quality makes video chatting with FaceTime in HD a real pleasure! Finally, the Wi-Fi is two times faster and the 4G technology has been improved; even so, the battery still lasts for 10 hours!

New standard with iOS 8

The iPad Air 2 comes with the iOS 8 operating system. iOS 8 was designed to work seamlessly with the powerful AX8 processor, fast wireless technology, and the impressive Retina screen. There are a number of new functions such as Continuity, which makes it easy to continue with a project on another device. You can also save all kinds of documents online on the iCloud Drive as well as share films, books, music and apps with up to six other devices (Family Sharing). A number of new and improved apps also come with the device, from email and internet, to video chat and navigation, to an iBook reader and a calendar. Of course, there are also countless other free apps that you can download from the App Store.
