General
An integral part of that authentic Hammond sound is the Leslie speaker. This Leslie 3300P is based on the Leslie 971 but is built for the road, with a much friendlier size and weight, and fitted wheels on the base. The total power of 300 Watts is divided between a powerful horn driver and 15-inch woofer while the vacuum tube in the preamplifier ensures all of that typical cream-coated, warm overdrive.
Leslie 3300W: Under the Bonnet
Just like the classic Leslie, this 3300 Watt speaker is equipped with a Horn Driver and a drum that both rotate at variable speeds. The Eminence woofer is responsible for the low tones and distributes the sound evenly via the rotating drum. The Horn Driver is self-rotating, and to keep this rotation balanced, there's a second horn at the other end. Both the horn and drum are fitted with an independent motor so that the Rise Time, Fall Time, Slow Speed and Fast Speed are all fully adjustable.
Tube Amplification
The Leslie 3300W rotary speaker also features a 12AX7 tube in the preamp to add the right amount of warmth and shred. Using the rotary knobs, the intensity of the tube's sound can be adjusted from subtle, through to raw, through to flat-out overdrive. Just about every keyboard instrument, synth or electric guitar can be connected to the 3300W via the jack input or 8 and 11-pin Leslie connectors. This speaker offers all the powerful characteristics of the original Leslie 971 in a compact, portable package that's built to last.
