The Austrian Audio OC818 is one of the most versatile microphones on the market right now. This large-diaphragm condenser microphone doesn't just feature the extremely natural sounding CKR12 capsule, but allows you to record both diaphragms separately, meaning you can change the polar pattern after you've already finished recording via the free Polar Designer app, and even make stereo recordings with just one microphone. Using the OCR8 dongle (not included), you can even flip between pickup patterns using your phone.
The Austrian Audio OC818: Stage-Ready Design
The OC818 is a fan-favourite among studio engineers, but is nowhere near limited to studio use. The ultra-durable construction and compact size also prepares this first-rate condenser microphone for live performances. In fact, the OC818 Black Dual Set Go has been specially compiled for live sound techs and includes two microphone clips in place of shock mounts. To give this stereo pair a more low-profile look, Austrian Audio has even painted them black. This set also includes a newly designed soft case.
