Once again, American DJ came up with a rather remarkable contraption. Few single words suffice to describe the On-X (except perhaps Wicked!), and the closest we can get to a concise definition is something along the lines of Multi Colour Beam Double Sweeper Effect. Are you still with us? Then allow us to explain. The On-X is an LED light effect with high output and a wide range. Thanks to its 270-degree tilt for both heads, you are sure that everyone gets a piece of the action. What's more, thanks to its light weight and many automatic features, it is perfect for small pubs and clubs.
American DJ On-X: small powerhouse
At only 11 inches wide, the On-X definitely isn't one of the biggest light effects by American DJ. Its compact housing, however, is filled with quite a few functions. For instance, you can control it in several ways: via DMX, in a master/slave setup, via the optional UC-IR remote by ADJ, or automatically to the beat of the music in sound-mode. Naturally, it also has a fully automatic mode in which it runs pre-programmed shows, without needing further instructions.
Great colours
The On-X by American DJ doesn't blend its colours; it simply has red, green, blue and white LEDs and that's it. But hold on, even though this doesn't seem like much, there's a major advantage; you won't be bothered by amateuristic colour shadows and the output per LED is quite high. In short, it is a high-quality light effect that is sure not to disappoint!

Le premier a réussi à me convaincre de son efficacité pour des petites prestations, à condition de coupler son utilisation avec de la fumée qui révèlera des faisceaux relativement lumineux. Cependant j'ai trouvé le visuel un peu pauvre avec un seul appareil, j'ai donc décidé d'investir dans un second appareil pour des prestations symétriques beaucoup plus esthétiques! Personnellement je préfère disposer l'appareil verticalement, c'est une question de goût.
Par contre je maintiens que cela ne vaut pas plus de 125, et qu'il est quasi nécessaire de disposer d'au moins 2 appareils pour des shows attrayants.

L'appareil en lui-même est relativement compact ce qui est pratique pour une sono mobile. Les rampes motorisées sont en plastique mais le corps de l'appareil est en métal ce qui assure une certaine robustesse. Au niveau des effets, l'appareil réagit plutôt bien en mode musical et offre un show assez dynamique. La puissance des lampes est cependant un peu faible et le rendu est peu intéressant sans l'utilisation d'une machine à fumée, tout repose sur les effets de balayage des faisceaux.
Ce type d'effet est à mi-chemin entre le moonflower et le scan, par contre niveau prix je trouve que cela ne vaut pas plus de 125.
Il peut être utilisé avec une télécommande vendue séparément, mais je ne l'ai pas achetée.

Op mijn kanaaltje staat ook een korte demo.
Deze effecten van ADJ krijgen van mij een 9, door een kleine kanttekening.
De ingebouwde shows en de lichtoutput zijn helemaal top. Ik gebruik ze in master slave, sound active en show mode. Super om het sound active af en toe uit te schakelen om mooie sweeping beams te krijgen.
Het effect laat zich zonder rook al flink zien in een zaal. Met rook is het natuurlijk alleen nog maar geweldiger. De effectenzijn lekker licht en laten zich met een klem op allen mogelijke manieren installeren.
Idiaal voor bijvoorbeel op de tussenpalen van mijn speakerset.
Mijn plussen en minnen:
+ gewicht, lichtoutput, montagemogelijkheden, degelijkheid, spreiding van het licht, shows, bediening met ir remote
- shows niet synchroom wanner je ze via dmx start. (De effecten starten dan een show niet vanaf het begin, maar hij onthoud waar hij als laatste was), ir-ontvanger aan de voorkant / binnezijde van de lamp (juist het deel wat richting publiek gericht staat). Ir-zender op de ipad werkt zeer slecht.
Tip! Koop direct de ADJ ir remote, voor een paar euro. Scheeft veel bedienings frustratie.
Verder echt een top effect. Deze zijn een blijvertje!
