Keeping things compact, the aptly named Fishman AFX Broken Record pedal wraps a looper and sampler up in one slim box that offers intuitive controls and endless overdubs via one solitary footswitch. With this pedal, you can create a maximum loop length of six minutes or even load in custom samples in the form of WAV audio files using the included USB cable. Thanks to the 24-bit, 44.1 kHz recording quality, the Broken Record is a high-grade bit of kit for capturing ideas, writing complete tracks or just backing yourself up during solo practise sessions. Another solid detail is that recordings are auto-saved to the pedal as soon as it's switched off, so you can then save them to your computer. In looper mode, you can set your samples to loop endlessly while laying over an infinite number of overdubs, while in sampler mode, a sample can be triggered to play once, supporting gigs as well as writing sessions.
