General

The DriveRack PA2 by DBX is a speaker management system and the successor to the PA+. DBX has much experience developing speaker management processors, and it shows with the PA2. It is easy to use, yet packs an immense amount of functions. Thanks to the practical Wizard function, you can easily adjust your speaker system to its surroundings. The AutoEQ algorithm uses the RTA microphone to record the room and automatically adjusts the EQ to make the sound of the speakers as linear as possible. Additionally, the AFS algorithm ensures quick and accurate feedback elimination, by applying narrow and steep filters. Moreover, you can now remotely adjust the settings of the DriveRack PA2 via apps for all common devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. Adjusting the PA2 will be done in a jiffy, while you are free to walk through the room to listen to the sound.

DBX DriveRack PA2: Extensive speaker management system

The 2 inputs of the processor can be distributed to 6 outputs (all XLR). These outputs can be set to function in a full-range setup, a two-way or a three-way system. On the input of the PA2 is a compressor algorithm which can compact your overall system. Use it right and the compressor allows you to create a higher volume while keeping the sound nice and neat. Moreover, there's an 8-band parametric EQ that allows you to adjust the sound to your liking, and a sub harmonic synthesizer to lay an additional octave below your lowest signal, resulting in a bass that goes properly deep.

The outputs of the PA2

The most important function of a speaker management system is to protect your speakers, which DBX show with the limiters on this system. These digitally controlled limiters let no peak go through, so your speakers will never be served more than they can handle. Additionally, there's an 8-band parametric EQ for each channel, which you can use to fine tune your speakers. Further still, there's a delay module on each output that allows for a true phase operation.
